The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) is the process that initiates adults into the Catholic Church through various phases leading to reception of the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and First Eucharist (Holy Communion). In this process, the parish community serves as both companions on the journey and as examples of faith.
Conversion is at the heart of RCIA and of the Christian life itself. The RCIA process facilitates and supports the conversion experience and creates a "space"
for adults to explore Catholic beliefs, have questions answered, and share their journey.
At Saint William, our RCIA process starts with informal weekly meetings, followed by formal sessions.
