Altar Server Blessing

On the weekend of October 20, we recognized and blessed our altar servers who attended four Masses as part of their observation period, a requirement for wearing the surplice.
 
Why is this blessing done during Mass? 
 
Acknowledgment of Service: We want to acknowledge the dedication and commitment of these altar servers. Their service is a vital part of our liturgical celebrations, helping to enhance the reverence and solemnity of our worship. 
 
Encouragement and Support: By blessing them, we offer our support and encouragement. This ceremony is a way to show that their efforts are valued and appreciated by the entire parish community. 
 
Spiritual Growth: Serving at the altar is not just a task but a spiritual journey. It helps these young servers grow in their faith and develop a deeper connection with the Eucharist and the Church. 
 
Community Building: This blessing also strengthens our sense of community. It reminds us that we are all part of the Body of Christ, supporting and uplifting one another in our faith journeys.
