As I know you are aware, this year we celebrate the 85th anniversary of St. William, and I really think it's worth taking a moment to ponder this reality. How many baptisms have taken place at our parish since it was founded? How many confessions have been heard? How many Holy Communions have been received?
It's beautiful to realize that thousands of people have encountered the living God through our parish, and that thousands more continue to do so. Personally, I encounter him here at our parish daily, and I know that many of you do as well. This amazing gift, of course, is primarily because of Him who has loved us first. But it's mind-blowing to consider that He invites us to cooperate with him in this beautiful task of drawing souls to him and thus to heaven. Yet one more thing to be grateful for!
With the end of the year fast approaching, and as we look forward to welcoming our pastor home in December, I also want to take a moment to invite you to consider taking part in our year-end giving, a long-standing tradition of our parish that supports all the amazing things we have been doing for the past 85 years. Our year-end goal is $300,000. We know it takes each of us, the more than 4,000 families of St. William, to take part in making a difference for our parish.
If you would, please prayerfully consider one special gift of $100. By participating, you will help:
Support our youth – Your support enables us to continue to offer faith formation programs for our children and teens and provide need-based scholarships
Sustain a shared space for our vibrant parish family to grow in faith and community The operating costs for our parish support the needs of our growing parish community and activities of more than 80 ministries.
Respond to needed projects – Exceeding our goal would help replenish our parish’s reserve fund, a fund set aside for unanticipated, but necessary projects.
I look forward to all that God has in store for our parish family in the coming year. I hope to see you and your loved ones as we celebrate this joyful season together. Please know that Fr. Francisco, Fr. Lourdhu and I are praying for you and your loved ones this Advent and Christmas.
In Christ, through Mary,
Fr. Enrique Sada-Coeto Parochial Vicar
A gift of $250 or more would make an even greater impact on reaching our goal. Please remember this gift is tax deductible for 2025 if received by December 31. (Please indicate “85th Anniversary Year-End Gift”).
