Worship Ministries

 

  • Altar Servers - Young men and women in grades 4-12 who assist the priest and deacon with books, candles and gifts at Mass, Stations of the Cross and other special liturgies.  Debbie George 255-4473.
  • Art & Environment - Teens and adults who help change decorations in the church from one liturgical season to another.  Debbie George 255-4473.
  • Children's Liturgy of the Word (CLW) - At the 9:30 am Mass on Sunday, the children are taken to the Religious Education Building for CLW where  the readings are presented in language the children can understand.  Children may also serve as ushers and also sing in the choir.  Debbie George 255-4473.
  • Eucharistic Adoration - The Blessed Sacrament is exposed in the Sacred Heart Chapel continuously 24 hours a day every day.  At least two persons are needed each hour to spend time in prayer before the real presence of Jesus.  For more information, see Eucharistic Adoration under Spiritual Growth.  Bruni Cruz (512) 796-2105.
  • Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion - Confirmed Catholics who have completed the Eucharist Minister training and have been commissioned help distribute the Body and Blood of Christ during Mass.  Debbie George 255-4473.
  • Homebound Ministers - Confirmed Catholics who have completed the Eucharistic Minister training and have been commissioned bring the Body of Christ to the homebound.  Mary Cavett 388-0016.
  • Lectors - Men and women who have completed lector training and have been commissioned to prepare and proclaim the Sacred Scriptures at Mass and other celebrations.  Patricia Ring 244-0064.
  • Music Ministry - Instrumentalists and singers who lead the congregation in sung prayer.  Each choir holds weekly practice sessions.  Dimitar Ninov 310-0926.
  • Nursery - Provides childcare services during Sunday Masses as listed in the bulletin.  
  • Rosary Devotion - All are invited to prayer the Rosary in Church on Sunday at 7:00 AM (Spanish) and 8:45 AM (English) and Wednesday at 7:40 PM in the Chapel and after First Saturday Mass in the church.  Marie Christy 255-3376.
  • Ushers - Men and women who welcome the faithful at the Church doors, assist with seating, offertory collection and procession of gifts, communion processions and distribution of bulletins.  Ron Davis 244-2324. 
  • Welcome Center -  Interested in helping at the Welcome Center in the Narthex of the church after Sunday Masses contact Noe Rocha 600-8166.
