1. What is Life Teen?

In simple terms, Life Teen is what we call our High School Youth Ministry program at St. William. It is a Catholic centered program open to teens (grades 9—12) of all faiths. LIFE is the place to be! Life Teen takes care of you… Spiritually, educationally, and socially. It is the total program! A Comprehensive approach to Ministry. Through the LIFE TEEN Mass and LIFE Nights, high school teens learn more about their Catholic faith and grow to love the Sacraments, the Word, and the Mass. At a LIFE TEEN parish, a priest, youth minister, the music ministry and a CORE Team of volunteers build an environment where teens feel loved, accepted, and compelled to reach deeper into their faith.

2. What is Life Teen Mass?

LIFE TEEN encourages teens to embark on a journey of faith in a relationship with God through Jesus Christ and His Church. At a weekly LIFE TEEN Mass, teens experience the depths of God’s love through the Word, the active presence of the priest, the faith community, and the Eucharist. All teens and their families are invited to attend this Mass as a family to more intimately experience the Eucharistic celebration.

3. What is Life Night?

Following the Mass, trained youth ministers and core members lead the teens deeper into their Catholic faith in the LIFE Night experience. Teens grow as a faith community, increasing in understanding of what it means to be young and Catholic in today’s world.

4. We already attend the _:30 Mass as a family. Does my teen have to attend the Life Teen Mass?

The short answer to this is, "No, let's praise God that they are attending Mass weekly." The longer answer requires more questions. Are they coming to Mass freely or does it take some coaxing to get them there. Are they actively participating in the Mass or are they just going through the motions. Would it be beneficial for my teen to see his/her peers actively participating in Mass? Some of the teens that attend the Life Teen Mass attend two Masses, one in the morning with their family and the Life Teen Mass. I'm sure they would love it if their families would attend the Life Teen Mass with them.
